This 4-week intermediate course is perfect for sewists who are ready to level up. You’ll learn how to draft your own custom-fit bodice block (sloper) and transform it into patterns for tops, dresses, and more.
By the end of the course, you’ll have the confidence and skills to make garments that fit beautifully — all from your own patterns.
What You’ll Learn:

All pattern paper, calico for your toile (mock-up), and course handouts

1 completed custom bodice block (you keep it!)

1–2 finished garments using your own patterns
Each Week Covers:
Week 1:
Introduction to block making, body measurements, and drafting your bodice block on a patternpaper
Week 2:
Toile fitting session – adjust your block, refine darts and seams, and prepare your final block
Week 3:
Transform your block into a new pattern — choose a top or dress style, plan fabric layout
Week 4:
Cut, construct, and finish your first custom-fit garment using your drafted pattern

What to Bring
Students are asked to bring the following materials:

Notebook & pen – for notes, sketches, and pattern ideas
- Calico (can be bought in the studio)

Fabric for final garment – medium-weight cotton, linen, or other woven fabric (2–3 meters, depending on design)

Optional: Your own sewing machine (if preferred)
